Rates

Your inpatient rehabilitation at the Luzerner Höhenklinik Montana is usually covered by your health insurance - especially if you have supplementary hospital insurance.

Who pays the costs?

Your health insurance will cover the costs of inpatient rehabilitation once you have received a valid cost approval - especially if you have supplementary hospital insurance (general insurance for the whole of Switzerland, semi-private or private supplementary insurance). If you are only insured under the canton of residence insurance model (OKP), find out in advance about any costs that are not covered by your health insurance. In various Swiss cantons (Lucerne, Valais, Nidwalden and for pneumology in the cantons of Uri and Zug), the Lucerne Montana High Altitude Clinic is on the hospital list, which makes it possible to take out OKP insurance. Depending on the tariffs set by the other cantons (reference tariffs), admission to OKP is also possible there. Would you like more information? The clinic will of course be happy to provide you with information about the expected costs. Give us a call (Tel. 027 485 82 82) or contact us using the contact form(to the contact form).

Are you a self-payer or a patient from abroad? If so, a deposit must be paid on the day of admission after prior consultation with the admissions office.

Depending on your health insurance cover, you will be admitted to the private, semi-private or general ward. If you have private or semi-private insurance, you will enjoy close supervision by the head physicians, a comfortable single room with a south-facing view and free TV and Internet. Of course, patients with general insurance can also enjoy excellent treatment and care. We guarantee this.

Supplementary hospitalisation insurance (general with hospitalisation and treatment costs throughout Switzerland) covers rehabilitation throughout Switzerland, and private or semi-private insurance anyway. If you have general insurance without a supplement and the clinic is not on the hospital list of your canton of residence, additional clarification is required (but may be advantageous depending on the canton).

The calculation of the daily flat rate is therefore made up of various factors. Canton of residence, admission diagnosis, insurance class and health insurance company influence the costs.

However, this should not be your concern. We will take care of all the necessary clarifications before your stay and inform you.

Our tariffs valid 2024

The following rates apply in principle to all patients who are subject to the Health Insurance Act (KVG), accident insurance (UV), disability insurance (IV) or military insurance (MV).
Other tariffs may apply to other patients.
Patients can be treated on an outpatient or inpatient basis, and the services are billed at different rates accordingly.

Outpatient treatment

In the outpatient sector, all services are valued with tax points and various contracts apply:

Contract

Tax point value

TARMED 0.84
Laboratory 1.00
Physiotherapy 0.99
Occupational therapy 1.10
Nutrition and diabetes counselling 1.00

Inpatient treatment

For inpatient treatment, service-related daily flat rates are charged, which are calculated according to the ST REHA system (inpatient tariff structure for rehabilitation).

The ST REHA flat rates cover the costs of meals and accommodation, nursing care, medical treatment, diagnostic and therapeutic services.

General ward

The clinic negotiates a basic price with the insurers for the rehabilitation services covered by basic insurance. This base price is multiplied by the cost weighting (depending on the rehabilitation speciality and severity of the case). This results in the effectively invoiced daily flat rate for the stay.

Base price ST REHA 2024: CHF 708 (KVG)
Fr. 664.- (UV, IV, MV)

Semi-private and private ward

Patients with semi-private and private insurance are offered additional services:

  • Single room for HP, large single room for P
  • Additional hotel services
  • Radio, TV and Internet
  • Treatment by head physician, deputy head physician or their deputy

These additional services are contractually agreed with the insurers and are added to the ST REHA basic price of the general ward.

The costs for the patient's treatment are normally settled directly with the health insurance company and the patient's canton of residence. The patient can request a copy of the invoice.

The clinic invoices the patient directly for services that are not covered by health insurance (e.g. patient transport, personal needs, services in the event of death, services for accompanying persons).
