Clinique Générale was one of the first establishments in Switzerland to offer this programme for hip and knee prosthetic surgery. This consists of personalised support throughout all the stages associated with the implantation of a prosthesis. Recently, shoulder prostheses have also been included.
A nursing consultation is organised before each hospitalisation. As this is a personalised consultation, it gives you and those around you the opportunity to obtain information and anticipate certain actions. This also enables the liaison department to find out about your needs and target the actions to be taken as effectively as possible. The work carried out prior to surgery helps to ensure continuity of care when you leave the clinic. Your personal involvement is essential for optimum recovery.
To help you prepare for your operation as effectively as possible, the Liaison Department organises a monthly information session at our clinic, subject to registration. A range of organisational, structural and time-related information will be provided. This session is given in collaboration with our physiotherapy team, to present the various stages of your future care. It will also answer any questions you may have about the implantation of a hip, knee or shoulder prosthesis.
Our liaison service will follow you during your stay at Clinique Générale. It works in close collaboration with the clinic's staff and external healthcare partners, such as home care and rehabilitation centres.
