Michel Schneider, MD, specialist in neurosurgery, founded and heads the Rückenpraxis Seefeld Zurich. Dr. Schneider became fascinated by spinal surgery early on during his further training as a specialist in neurosurgery FMH. He specialised in complex cervical spine surgery during a fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada with Prof. Dr. M. Fehlings and at Balgrist University Hospital, Zurich with Prof. Dr. M. Farshad in orthopaedic spine surgery. Under Prof. M. Fehlings, Dr Schneider wrote research papers in the field of non-traumatic spinal cord injuries (cervical myelopathy) and received a «Best Paper» award out of over 1400 research papers from the North American Spine Society NASS in 2019.
As a speciality, M. Schneider, MD, is one of the few spine surgeons in Switzerland to offer endoscopic surgery on the spine, which enables very gentle operations with a skin incision of just a few millimetres.
