«It takes humility to be a good doctor» – Interview with Dr. Daniel Christen in the magazin Zürcher Bahnhofstrasse
For the December issue of the Magazin Zürcher Bahnhofstrasse, the Medical Director of the Privatklinik Bethanien, Dr Daniel Christen, gave an interview. His speciality is visceral surgery and among other things he has specialised in operating with the «Da Vinci». He met the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Larissa Groff, for an interview. Dr Christen talks very openly about his career, the moments that have particularly touched him in his career and his original professional dreams:
«I would have liked to be a car racing driver. Actually, it's very similar to surgery: it's a search for the limit.» (Dr Daniel Christen)
Larissa Groff describes her impression of the meeting as follows: «He listens attentively, analyses briefly, and then answers thoughtfully and without hesitation. You quickly realise that you are not dealing with the chief surgeon and head physician of one of Switzerland's leading private clinics, but with someone who understands human nature.»
«You need a certain empathy, otherwise you are not a good doctor.»
