"A mes côtés", the FMH health podcast, gives the floor to Prof. Bogousslavsky and his patient Sean Murphy
It is with great emotion that we share with you the last episode of this podcast, which retraces the journey of Mr. Sean Murphy, who suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and has been followed for almost 20 years by Prof. Bogousslavsky, head physician of the neurological rehabilitation department at Clinique Valmont.
ALS, also known as Charcot's disease, causes progressive paralysis of the muscles. As the paralysis spreads, patients lose the ability to walk, swallow, speak and even breathe.
In 2004, Sean Murphy learned that he had only 6 months to live. Today, aged 58, he continues to work at 100% despite his declining physical capacities.
A story of courage, resilience, perseverance and confidence.
