Congratulations to our winner of Flammes infirmières vaudoises 2024
On Vaud Nurses' Day 2024, the Department of Health and Social Action, together with its partners, unveiled the Flammes des soins infirmiers. This year, five winners were honoured with these awards, in recognition of their daily work at the heart of the healthcare system.
Alexandrina Oliveira Fernandes, a nurse at Swiss Visio Montchoisi, won the 2024 award in the ‘patient safety net’ category.
She ensures the quality and safety of patients through a comprehensive clinical assessment. It enhances nurses' ability to detect and anticipate potential situations of decompensation, thanks to a thorough, continuous and intentional collection of clinical information.
Alexandrina is also responsible for hygiene, health and safety in the workplace, as well as ensuring patient safety as co-responsible for monitoring compliance in the ophthalmic operating theatre.
In addition, Alexandrina quickly and constantly diagnoses the situation in the retina unit, identifying sources of difficulties and making improvements. In this way, she minimises the risks involved in patient care and improves the team's working conditions.
After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in nursing, Alexandrina completed her training with a CAS in clinical nursing assessment. Her 8 years as a qualified nurse at EMS Clair Soleil have given her an eagle eye and the ability to react appropriately in all situations.
We are proud of her daily work with patients and teams, and honoured to be able to count on her expertise.
