La Domenica - A Lugano man in Paris to treat athletes
Participating in the Olympic Games in Paris is the fulfilment of a dream for me, a sports fan since childhood'. No, these are not the words of Ayman El Wafi, FC Lugano's central midfielder who will also be attending the big event with the Moroccan U23 Olympic football team, but of someone who dealt with him during the last Super League season.
Dr Marco Marano, a specialist in Orthopaedics and Traumatology and in Sports Medicine working at the Clinica Ars Medica in Gravesano and at the Ars Medica Sports Centre in Manno, selected by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) among the fifty or so doctors, physiotherapists and nurses - and the only representative for Switzerland - who will assist the athletes in the polyclinic set up in the Olympic Village in Saint-Denis between 20 July and 11 August.
