Orthoptic check-up day
The start of the new school year is an opportunity to pay particular attention to visual health, especially for the very young.
A child's visual function is not acquired at birth, but develops until around the age of ten. Any visual defect should be detected and corrected as early as possible to ensure normal visual function in adulthood.
As part of our preventive action, our Swiss Visio Chavannes team is organising two days of free eye check-ups for children aged 4 to 18:
- Wednesday 25 September from 1pm to 5pm
- Tuesday 15 October from 8am to 12pm
These screenings are aimed at children from the age of 4 up to the age of 18, with no known visual problems and who are not under the care of an ophthalmologist. An orthoptist and an ophthalmologist will be on hand to measure visual acuity, eye position, binocular collaboration and vision of relief, eye pressure and a fundus examination.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to complete the history form. The complete assessment will take approximately 45 minutes.
Please make an appointment by telephone on + 41 58 274 23 10.
The examinations do not constitute a full consultation for a 2nd opinion or a prescription for glasses.
Consult an ophthalmologist if your child complains of: difficulty seeing, seeing double, headaches, being very tired after school. You should also consult an ophthalmologist if you notice any change in the appearance of your child's eyes or in their visual behaviour.
