According to data provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), the proportion of individuals over the age of 65 is increasing compared to other age groups. This population segment is projected to reach two billion by 2050-a number three times greater than the 2005 figures. This demographic segment will make up approximately a quarter of the world's population, with significant variations in growth rates depending on the region analyzed.
