Swiss Medical Network strengthens its presence in Ticino and founds Rete Sant'Anna
Swiss Medical Network strengthens its presence in the canton of Ticino with the acquisition of the Centromedico Group, which operates ten medical centres in Ticino and provides a significant part of basic medical care to the population. With this acquisition, Swiss Medical Network lays the foundation for the creation of the Rete Sant'Anna, the second fully integrated care region in Switzerland, modelled on the Réseau de l'Arc.
The new region will promote close collaboration between outpatient and inpatient care and introduce the VIVA health plan in Ticino as of 1 January 2025. This innovative plan focuses on preventive and comprehensive care by general practitioners and healthcare managers. With around 250 doctors and 600 employees, the Rete Sant'Anna will cover the health needs of a population of more than 350,000 inhabitants.
