Lana E. Kandalaft appointed Chief of Clinical and Translational Research at Swiss Medical Network

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Lana E. Kandalaft as Chief of Clinical and Translational Research at Swiss Medical Network. Prof. Kandalaft is an internationally renowned expert in the field of experimental therapies and translational medicine. Over the past ten years, as Chief of service, she has directed the experimental therapeutics centre at the CHUV and has put pioneering research approaches in oncology into clinical practice.

With over 100 scientific publications and a passion for training young scientists and physicians, Prof. Kandalaft will play a central role in the creation of a new clinical and translational research centre on the Genolier Campus, including a phase I trial unit. Her own developments will focus on innovative cancer therapies, including therapeutic and preventive vaccines.

Prof. Kandalaft holds a doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) and a PhD from Cardiff University, as well as postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda. She then obtained a Master of Science in Translational Research at the University of Pennsylvania before being appointed Professor there. Prof Kandalaft is currently pursuing some of her activities at the Lausanne branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and at the University of Lausanne.

A recognised expert in clinical trial development, regulatory guidelines and translational research, Prof. Kandalaft has published over 100 scientific articles. At the Genolier Campus, she will set up a centre for clinical and translational research, including a phase I unit. Thanks to her expertise, she will be able to transfer innovative therapies to patient care.
