In Switzerland, annual healthcare costs amount to CHF 86 billion, an increasing burden on public finances and families. Recently, MP Matteo Quadranti tabled a motion to reduce these costs, inspired by a document by Avenir Suisse. On 26 September, a further increase in health insurance premiums in 2025 was announced, with a 10.5 % increase in Ticino bringing the average cost to CHF 21.60 more than in 2024.
