November 17 was World Prematurity Day. It has been celebrated since 2011 in more than sixty countries with the aim of raising awareness about preterm births and the problems of the premature infant. To understand the magnitude of annual births of preterm infants, a distinction must be made taking into account weeks of gestation: «One in ten babies in the world is born preterm».
