Lymphedema and lipedema
Lipedema is a disorder that mainly affects women and is characterized by an abnormal accumulation of fat in the lower portion of the body. It is different from lymphedema and obesity, two conditions with which it can be associated further complicating the symptom picture.
Currently, the exact causes of lipedema are unknown. But since it mainly affects women, it is plausible that a hormonal imbalance is at the origin of the disorder. What are the symptoms, how to recognize it, and how to treat it.
