Little known, the lymphatic system plays a decisive role in the immune system and communicates with the blood system by draining fluids that accumulate in subcutaneous tissues. In fact, about 10% of the fluid that irrigates the tissues does not return to the heart through the veins, but precisely via the lymphatic system; what allows essential drainage to support the cardiovascular system, the importance of which we unfortunately realize only when it is compromised.
