Dry eye Syndrome
Dry eye syndrome is a common condition, often underestimated and underdiagnosed. It accounts for approximately 25% of ophthalmology consultations.
The relatively high frequency of dry eye syndrome, its financial cost and significant impact on quality of life and even vision make it a real public health problem. Major epidemiological studies indicate that female gender and advanced age increase the risk of dry eye.
Blepharitis is very common and is the leading cause of dry eye, related to hyper-evaporation of tears.
