Work Experience

  • 30 years of experience (1979-2009) in internal medicine, oncology and haematology, obtained at the Hôpital Universitaire de Genève and abroad. Following seven years of post-graduate training, she was appointed as Chief resident in 1986 and then promoted to Primary consultant in 1993, a role that she worked in until 2009. She is an expert in diagnostic tools and cutting-edge treatment for patients suffering from a range of cancers, such as lymphoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, myeloma, acute or chronic leukaemia, as well as myeloproliferative and myelodysplastic disorders.
  • Consultant in the main French cancer treatment institutes: In 1986 at the Hôpital Saint-Louis de Paris (Prof. E Gluckman) and in 1998 at the Hôpital Henri-Mondor de Paris (Prof. F Reyes).
  • From 1984 to 2009, co-director of the allogeneic and autologous bone marrow transplant programme in Geneva, responsible for the external consultation clinic. She played a key role in the creation of the umbilical blood bank in Geneva.
  • Responsible for the development of innovative therapy protocols, working with the pharmaceutical industry (including Hoffmann-La Roche and Schering) to design and conduct clinical trials focused primarily on the use of monoclonal antibodies and radio-immunotherapy.
  • Regular pre- and post-graduate teaching activities at the Faculty of medicine in the University of Geneva.

Memberships

Designated expert and consultant appointed by the Ligue Suisse Contre le Cancer and committee member at the Ligue Genevoise Contre le Cancer, designated member of the expert group on chronic lymphocitic leukaemia of the Société Suisse d'Oncologie Médicale, designated expert appointed by the Groupe Suisse de Recherche Clinique sur le Cancer.
