Onco Day 2024

Recap of Onco Day 2024: Innovation at the service of thoracic cancers

On Saturday 23rd November 2024, Swiss Medical Network organised its third Onco Day at the brand new Genolier Innovation Hub. This annual event brings together leading healthcare specialists to discuss innovations and best practice in cancer care.

This 2024 edition focused on thoracic cancers, a highly topical issue, covering a wide range of subjects such as early detection, advanced treatments and new multidisciplinary approaches for patients suffering from these complex pathologies.

A high-level scientific programme
Throughout the day, renowned experts shared their insights and debated the latest advancements in key areas, including:

  • Screening and staging of lung cancers: from screening criteria to technological innovations enabling more accurate assessment of pulmonary nodules.
  • Surgical approaches for early and advanced stages: with discussions on minimally invasive techniques such as VATS and RATS, as well as ERAS protocols aimed at improving post-surgical recovery.
  • Treatment of rare tumours, including pleural mesothelioma and thymic tumours, for which new therapeutic and surgical perspectives were presented.
  • Radiotherapy and medical oncology: exploring the latest advances in targeted, personalised and innovative treatments to offer patients ever more effective options.

A space dedicated to medical innovation
The day was also an opportunity to discover the Genolier Innovation Hub, a space designed to foster medical excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants had the chance to explore this unique space, which stands as a symbol of Swiss Medical Network’s commitment to innovation and cutting-edge care.

A success made possible through exceptional collaboration
Swiss Medical Network would like to warmly thank the speakers, moderators and partners for their valuable contributions, as well as all participants who enriched the discussions with their expertise and commitment.

Onco Day 2024 demonstrated once again the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in pushing back the frontiers of medicine for the benefit of patients. We are already looking forward to the 2025 edition, which will continue to explore new horizons in the fight against cancer.

Thank you to our sponsors for their support!
