A Nationwide Strategic Partnership in Integrated Care

We are pleased to announce that Swiss Medical Network and the Bern-based Visana insurance group are extending their partnership in the field of integrated care at national level. As part of this strategic partnership, Visana Beteiligungen AG is acquiring 11.1% of Swiss Medical Network SA through a capital increase.

With this strategic partnership, we are pursuing with Visana our vision of transforming the Swiss healthcare system from a "sickness system" into a genuine "healthcare system". We are convinced that, in the medium and long term, a number of integrated care regions will emerge throughout Switzerland, in which all the players (customers, insurance companies, primary care providers, hospitals and home help services) are coordinated within an integrated regional healthcare organisation.
