Art therapy

Art therapy is useful for people with various illnesses and crises in all phases of life as well as in psychosocial contexts. Guided by the art therapist, you can activate your healing process very effectively using various creative techniques and media.

Art therapy promotes your ability to perceive and understand yourself and your environment directly through the senses. It addresses a deep basic human need to express oneself creatively and to make contact with others. On the basis of a trusting therapeutic relationship, inner processes are made visible through the materials and media of fine art, and the qualities of colour and form are connected with your own experiences and life motives. In the art therapy process, creative resources can be rediscovered, self-healing powers mobilised and diverse processes of change stimulated. Through perception on all levels, connections from your life story can become visible.

Art therapy promotes and sensitises your sensory perception, your awareness of internal and external processes and your individual creativity and ability to express yourself. Art therapy supports you in recognising your own resources and abilities, promotes concentration, self-assurance and self-confidence. Painting in particular is a means of expressing inner states and becoming clearer about yourself and your own feelings. Art therapy thus offers an opportunity to symbolically depict and process conflicts, thoughts, wishes and memories.
Our therapies take place in groups. We offer painting, collage and sculpting with a variety of materials.
