After studying in New York (USA) and the Netherlands, Dr. Vakalopoulos completed his medical studies at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam (NL). He also joined a surgical research team which led to a Doctorate (Phd) in Surgery in 2014. Dr. Vakalopoulos trained in general surgery, then hand surgery, at the University Hospitals of Geneva, where he also worked as assistant chief of clinic, before setting up as an independent hand surgeon in Geneva.
He is also accredited by the European Board of Hand Surgery and is a member of the Geneva Hand Surgeons Association.
Dr Vakalopoulos is an expert in pathologies of the hand and wrist, and is trained in new techniques such as arthroscopy of the hand and wrist, as well as aesthetic medicine of the hand, for which he is also a consultant at the Nescens clinic in Genolier.
